• The Housing Authority's conversion of its Boutique and Honville properties under a RAD Section 18 blend program is moving forward, with the application expected to go to HUD in December, approval anticipated in February 2026, construction slated to begin August 1, and relocation targeted for completion by September 2027. The Authority indicated it will need to work with the parish and community stakeholders to close an estimated $3 million to $3.2 million financing gap, a conversation residents should watch as it develops.

• The Housing Authority is in the process of hiring its first finance director and transitioning to a new property management system in November, changes intended to strengthen financial oversight of public housing operations.

• Parish President Jewell and the Port of South Louisiana discussed exploring a potential partnership to acquire and develop a large industrial site on the west bank of the parish to diversify manufacturing jobs; both sides indicated they would begin coordinating this week, making it worth following for future announcements.
