Recreation as an economic question. She saw unused capacity in the parish's recreation facilities and suggested they could be better used to draw economic activity. The Herald-Guide reported this as a belief about potential rather than a firm proposal.
Her claim on the job. Twenty-five years in District VII, raising a family there, and a career in the parish's public schools: 33 years, 17 of them as a principal. "I understand the pressing issues facing the families in our community," she said at qualifying. Asked what she brings, she offered what others have told her, that she has "a knack for talking with people and listening."
